1879-CC $5 AU55 PCGS. This issue is the most available Carson City half eagle from the 1870s, but is usually found in the lower circulated grades (Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth, 2006). The apricot-gold surfaces of this Choice AU example display good amounts of residual luster, and the design features are nicely defined. A few minute marks are undistracting. Population: 13 in 55, 14 finer (4/09).(Registry values: P3)
