Description
1879-CC Liberty Half Eagle, AU58
Smooth, Lustrous Surfaces
1879-CC $5 AU58 NGC. Variety 1-A. A scarce and sought-after
Carson City issue, the 1879-CC half eagle becomes a genuine rarity
in the finer AU grades, and Mint State coins are out of reach for
most enthusiasts. The present example is well-struck and has only
slight high-point friction. The surfaces are smooth, yielding
luminous orange-gold luster. Eye appeal exceeds expectations for
the grade and issue. Census: 27 in 58, 8 finer (7/16).From The Twelve Oaks Collection.(Registry values: P3)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25X8, PCGS# 8349, Greysheet# 9068)
