1880-CC $5 AU55 NGC. Variety 1-A. A low mintage apricot-gold Choice AU half eagle from the famed Carson City facility. The eagle's neck, the hairbun, and other high points display moderate wear, but luster brightens design recesses and there are no detrimental marks. Variety 1-A is the usually seen die pair, identified by a high mintmark over each serif of the V in FIVE.(Registry values: P3)
