Description

1880-CC Half Eagle, Ex: Bass

1880-CC $5 AU55 PCGS. Ex: HW Bass Jr. This crisply struck tan-gold Carson City five dollar piece displays a narrow band of bright luster near the rim on both sides. Marks are minimal, and no trace of dirt is present. Given its mintage of more than 50,000 pieces, the 1880-CC would appear to be scarce rather than rare. However, PCGS has certified just six pieces as Mint State, and the date is difficult even in lightly circulated grades.(Registry values: P3)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25XB, PCGS# 8352, Greysheet# 9070)
