1881 $5 MS65 PCGS. The enormous production of more than 5.7 million coins makes available exciting Gem coins such as the present piece, with superlative reddish-gold coloration and minimal contact, large or small. The bold strike is compelling. The only minor drawback are some tiny dark areas of unknown origin along the obverse rim.(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25XD, PCGS# 8354, GSID# 8928)
