1881-CC $5 AU53 PCGS. CAC. Winter 1-A. Ex: The Fairmont Collection. The 1881-CC five has a miserly mintage of 13,886 pieces, and only a handful of Mint State pieces are certified. Most collectors settle for a lightly circulated example. This is an attractive rose-red and sea-green representative with substantial remaining luster. Marks of any relevance are limited to a field line between Liberty's shoulder and star 13. Population: 9 in 53, 37 finer. CAC: 3 in 53, 16 finer (12/24).(Registry values: P3)
