Description

1881-CC Liberty Half Eagle, AU55
Challenging Carson City Issue

1881-CC $5 AU55 PCGS. Variety 1-A. From a mintage of 13,886 pieces, the 1881-CC is the most elusive Liberty half eagle of the decade from the Carson City Mint. This impressive Choice AU specimen shows only a touch of wear on the well-detailed design elements, which are more strongly impressed than usual for this issue. The lightly abraded orange-gold surfaces retain much of their original mint luster and eye appeal. Population: 11 in 55, 16 finer (10/17).(Registry values: P3)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25XE, PCGS# 8356, Greysheet# 9073)

Weight: 8.36 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
