Description

1881-CC Five Dollar
Sharp AU Details

1881-CC $5 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. Variety 1-A. Impressively sharp for an AU-level coin, as any high-point wear seems to be a result of the cleaning. This lightly hairlined 1881-CC half eagle displays bright straw-gold surfaces with a smooth, satiny sheen. The strike is bold in most regions, even if slightly incomplete on the eagle's neck feathers. Problem-free coins are scarce at this grade level.

Note for clients in the European Union: This lot is considered by the European Union to be “investment gold”. We believe that it meets the criteria established in Article 344(1), point (2) of Council Directive 2006/112/EC and thus should be exempt from import VAT regardless of the selling price. Any questions or concerns about VAT should be addressed to your accountant or local tax authority.
