Description
1881-CC Half Eagle, AU Details
Sharper Than Usually Seen
1881-CC $5 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. The
luster is a bit muted, leading to the NGC Details grade, yet plenty
of appeal remains otherwise on this example of a low-mintage issue
from Carson City, struck in the amount of 13,886 pieces. Most
certified survivors are VF to XF. This piece shows the expected
marks over orange-gold surfaces with a decent strike and no overt
abrasions.
Note for clients in the European Union: This lot is considered by the European Union to be “investment gold”. We believe that it meets the criteria established in Article 344(1), point (2) of Council Directive 2006/112/EC and thus should be exempt from import VAT regardless of the selling price. Any questions or concerns about VAT should be addressed to your accountant or local tax authority.
