Description
Delightful 1881-S Half Eagle, Choice Uncirculated
1881-S $5 MS64 PCGS. Although a common date in most grades, the 1881-S is difficult in near-Gem and virtually impossible to find finer. Delightful lemon-gold patina covers each side of this attractive specimen. Lots of swirling and lightly frosted luster across the surfaces gives this piece excellent eye appeal. Minor reeding marks on the obverse limit the grade, and there is softness on the stars and hair, as typically seen. PCGS has certified only two coins finer (6/08).(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25XF, PCGS# 8357, GSID# 9074)
