1881-S Half Eagle, MS65
Brightly Lustrous
1881-S $5 MS65 NGC. The 1881-S half eagle is an available
issue, but Gem examples are seldom seen; PCGS has certified three
such, NGC 21 with one finer (10/13). This piece boasts exuberant
orange-gold coloration with bright luster and a sharp strike. A
scattering of small ticks account for the grade, none of them
singular.(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25XF, PCGS# 8357, Greysheet# 9074)
