Description
1882-CC Five Dollar, MS62+
Condition Census Quality
1882-CC $5 MS62+ NGC. CAC. Variety 1-A. Among the finest
examples of this conditionally rare Carson City issue. In AU
grades, the '82-CC is always available for a price, but
Uncirculated pieces are undeniably rare. Most survivors were
shipped to foreign banks and indifferently stored for many years.
Minimally marked examples with bountiful luster, such as the
present coin, are seldom encountered. In addition, the strike is
precise and the butter-gold surfaces exude eye appeal. The only
MS62+ coin at either service, with just a single example finer.
Census: 5 in 62 (1 in 62+), 1 finer (1/15).(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25XH, PCGS# 8359, Greysheet# 9075)
Weight: 8.36 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
