One of the Four Finest Coins Graded

1882-S $5 MS66 NGC. Nearly 1 million 1882-S half eagles were struck, and survivors are plentiful through MS64. Gems are scarce, while coins at this level are major rarities with just three submissions at NGC and a single example at PCGS (12/18). Glittering honey-gold surfaces exhibit full definition and a nearly pristine obverse. There are just a handful of tiny flecks on the reverse.(Registry values: P2)
