Description

Low Mintage Choice 1883-S Half Eagle

1883-S $5 MS64 PCGS. This is one of the more underrated issues in the Liberty half eagle series. As the population data reveals, the date is at least scarce in all grades, and virtually unobtainable in the better grades of Mint State. This near-Gem displays excellent luster and apricot-gold patination that takes on a slightly deeper shade around the margins. All of the design features are well executed. Population: 3 in 64, 0 finer (7/07).(Registry values: P3)
