Description
1884-CC Half Eagle, AU53
Original Nevada Patina, CAC
1884-CC $5 AU53 PCGS. CAC. Winter 1-A. Ex: The Fairmont
Collection. The 1884-CC is a better Carson City half eagle with a
challenging mintage of 16,402 coins. Heavy circulation throughout
the Old West has left most certified pieces ranging between XF40
and AU58, and PCGS reports only three Mint State examples (3/26).
This gently circulated AU53 displays original russet-gold patina
accented with ample frosty luster in the protected areas. The
luminous fields show lightly blended marks, with none that are
individually bothersome.(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25XP, PCGS# 8365, Greysheet# 9079)
