Remarkable 1885 Half Eagle, MS63 ★ Prooflike
1885 $5 MS63 ★ Prooflike NGC. The brass-gold surfaces of this Select five dollar offer pleasing field-device contrast, and a solid strike imparts virtually complete definition to the design elements. Light marks, including a faint linear graze in the left obverse field, prevent a higher grade. Nevertheless, the pleasing overall eye appeal is aptly recognized by the NGC Star, the only one out of 10 Prooflike 1885 half eagles certified by that service designated as such.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25XS, PCGS# 78367)
