1886-S $5 MS65+ NGC. The enormous mintage exceeding 3.2 million coins is responsible for the survival of high-grade Gem examples such as this compelling coin. Higher-grade specimens are virtually unobtainable. Orange-gold centers cede to mint-green near the rims on each side, and a finer grade is precluded only by a couple of scattered reeding marks.
