1889 Liberty Half Eagle, MS62
Low-Mintage Philadelphia Issue

1889 $5 MS62 PCGS. Mintages of gold coins at Philadelphia were surprisingly low in 1889. Only 4,440 business strike eagles were coined, and the half eagle mintage (7,520 pieces) was only moderately higher. This is an orange-gold example with lightly abraded fields and a few unobtrusive marks near the chin. Population: 34 in 62, 9 finer (10/24).
