Description

1890-CC Five Dollar, MS61
Collectible Carson City Issue

1890-CC $5 MS61 NGC. Variety 1-A. Luster dominates the borders and devices of this pale peach-gold Carson City type coin. The strike is good, though shy of complete on the eagle's neck plumage and fletchings. No marks are remotely consequential. A mintage of 53,800 pieces ensures better-date status, though a few hundred pieces have survived in Mint State, making the issue accessible to the advanced collector.
