Popular 1890-CC Liberty Head Five, MS62

1890-CC $5 MS62 PCGS. CAC. Variety 1-A. The 1890-CC Liberty Head half eagle boasts an original mintage of 53,800 pieces. The emergence of a small hoard in the mid-1990s made the 1890-CC one of the more available issues of the series in high grade. The date is quite popular with type collectors, as well as Western gold specialists. The present coin features a sharp strike, with good luster, and deeper orange-gold surfaces. Overall eye appeal is excellent. Population: 70 in 62, 59 finer (10/09).(Registry values: P2)
