Description
1890-CC Half Eagle, MS63+
Luminous Sun-Orange Surfaces
1890-CC $5 MS63+ PCGS Secure. Variety 1-A. The Mint State
availability of this Carson City issue declines rapidly in grades
finer than MS62, and it is a rarity in Gem condition. This
Plus-graded Select example offers collectors an ideal balance of
price and grade. Frosty original luster shimmers with rich
orange-gold color. Only a few tiny abrasions are visible. Strike
weakness appears on the hair curls around Liberty's face and the
eagle's neck, although the overall definition is pleasing.
Population: 46 in 63 (5 in 63+), 35 finer (10/18).(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25Y3, PCGS# 8376, Greysheet# 9085)
Weight: 8.36 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
