Description

1890-CC Half Eagle, MS63
Elusive Grade Rarity

1890-CC $5 MS63 PCGS. The 1890-CC half eagle has a longstanding reputation as one of the most available Carson City fives. In Select condition, however, even this "common" issue becomes elusive. The present piece, primarily yellow-gold with a blush of peach at the rims, has good luster and a sharp peripheral strike, though the centers lack a complete impression. Minimally marked and delightful. Population: 33 in 63, 29 finer (3/11).
Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2008), lot 3503.(Registry values: P2)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25Y3, PCGS# 8376, Greysheet# 9085)

Weight: 8.36 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
