Description

Well-Struck Orange-Gold 1891-CC Five, MS63+

1891-CC $5 MS63+ NGC. The enormous mintage, for Carson City, of 208,000 half eagles in 1891 represents the zenith of production for the denomination, ensuring that collectors today can obtain nice examples for a reasonable price. This deeply patinated orange-gold example is well-struck, with only a few small marks that barely precluded the near-Gem level. Census: 2 in 63+, 69 finer (3/11).
