Difficult to Upgrade, Late-Date Issue

1892-CC $5 MS62 PCGS Gold Shield. Variety 1-A. With 82,968 pieces struck, the 1892-CC is much scarcer than the preceding 1891-CC, which has a mintage in excess of 200,000 coins. Anything finer than this softly lustrous MS62 representative is conditionally rare. Each side is boldly struck over the centers with light chatter in the fields. A pleasing Carson City half eagle. Population: 48 in 62 (2 in 62+), 19 finer (1/19).(Registry values: P2)
