Description
1892-CC Half Eagle, Well-Struck MS63
Extremely Rare Any Finer
1892-CC $5 MS63 PCGS. Variety 1-A. Only one variety known,
but there are at least die states recorded. This piece is
intermediate between between Die States II and III, attributed by
the partial break in the scroll below WE and the die crack from D
in the value to the second A in AMERICA. This issue is very scarce
in MS63 and extremely rare any finer. Strongly struck throughout,
including Liberty's hair and the eagle's legs, areas frequently
weak. Pleasing luster emanates from copper-gold surfaces that
reveal fewer and less severe marks than what might be expected for
the Select level. Population: 13 in 63, 1 finer (8/13).(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25Y7, PCGS# 8380, Greysheet# 9087)
Weight: 8.36 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
