Description

1893-CC Five Dollar Liberty, AU58
Final-Year Carson City Issue

1893-CC $5 AU58 PCGS. Variety 1-A. Ex: D.L. Hansen Collection. The final half eagle issue produced at Carson City before the branch mint was suspended as a coinage facility saw a production of 60,000 pieces. Examples are collectible with some patience, though they are most sought after in the upper AU grades. This near-Mint piece displays honey-gold patina with moderate field luster and well-struck design elements. Minor abrasions accompany trivial high-point wear, while the overall eye appeal of the coin is outstanding.(Registry values: P2)
