Description

1893-O Liberty Half Eagle, MS63+
High-End CAC Example

1893-O $5 MS63+ PCGS. CAC. Winter-2. Ex: The Fairmont Collection. This piece is in the early die state, before a retained cud develops over the UNI in UNITED. The 1893-O half eagle seldom comes this fine, the current coin is a rarity with its Plus designation and CAC green label. Only a few higher-grade examples are known. Frosty mint luster adorns wheat-gold surfaces, with scattered light marks commensurate with the grade. The strike is sharp. Population: 43 in 63 (9 in 63+), 2 finer. CAC: 12 in 63, 1 finer (12/24).
