1893-O Half Eagle, MS63
Nearly Unobtainable Any Finer
1893-O $5 MS63 PCGS. Variety 1. A single variety is known.
The 1893-O five dollar has the second highest mintage (110,000
pieces) of any half eagle from this mint, and is the most common
five in Uncirculated grades from New Orleans. That said, MS63
examples are challenging. PCGS and NGC have graded a total of 33
Select coins and a mere three pieces finer. Lustrous surfaces
exhibit soft rose-gold color and the design elements are
well-struck. Fewer marks are seen than is typically seen on
Uncirculated survivors. Population: 17 in 63 (2 in 63+), 1 finer
