    Description

    1894-O Five Dollar, MS62
    Low-Mintage New Orleans Issue

1894-O $5 MS62 NGC. Variety 2. A conservatively assessed pumpkin-gold example that offers smooth, lustrous surfaces. The central strike shows moderate inexactness. The scarcer of the two 1894-O die marriages, which divide the low mintage of 16,600 pieces. About 30% of examples are Variety 2, with the variety above the VE in FIVE, instead of Variety, which places the mintmark over V. Certified in a circa-2000 holder. Census: 11 in 62, 5 finer (7/19).
