Description
1895 Five Dollar, MS67
Meticulously Preserved
Among the Finest Certified
1895 $5 MS67 PCGS. The 1895 half eagle is a plentiful date
from a sizeable mintage just under 1.35 million pieces, and does
not become scarce until Gem. In MS66, however, this date is
genuinely rare, and only a few coins have been certified finer. In
fact, this Superb Gem is among the finest certified 1895 half
eagles, as PCGS and NGC combined report a total of only seven in
MS67, and just two at MS67+ (3/26).This splendid Superb Gem exhibits sharp design definition and radiant honey-gold mint frost. Close inspection reveals nearly undisturbed surfaces, and the coin produces a truly exceptional visual presentation. This piece represents an important opportunity for a type collector to acquire a conditionally rare coin with great eye appeal.
