Description

Seldom-Seen Mint State 1895-S Five Dollar

1895-S $5 MS61 NGC. The lower Mint State grade is apparently attributed to a couple of reeding marks on the cheek and left obverse field, but the deep reddish-orange coloration and bold strike nonetheless imbue this coin with significant eye appeal and make it high-end for the assigned grade. Seldom seen in Mint State, as most examples of the emission entered circulation.(Registry values: P3)
