1896-S $5 MS62 PCGS. Just 10 finer pieces have appeared in our auctions over the last 16 years, including some that were offered in more than one event. This date is a major rarity in higher Mint State grades, and the present piece is expected to meet with considerable demand. This piece is sharply struck and fully lustrous with excellent eye appeal. A few trivial marks are expected for the grade. Faint splashes of coppery-orange toning can be seen on the reverse. Population: 12 in 62, 11 finer (10/09).(Registry values: P3)
