1899-S $5 MS64 NGC. This relatively plentiful San Francisco issue becomes conditionally scarce in MS64 and is rarely offered finer. The present near-Gem displays a sharp strike and satiny straw-gold luster. A few stray lines in the fields are all that prevent a full Gem designation. Census: 50 in 64 (1 in 64+), 22 finer (3/18).From The Gotham City Collection. (Registry values: P2)
