1899-S $5 MS65 NGC. Coruscated, frosted mint luster beams brightly from both sides of this sparkling Gem. The 1899-S is one of the surprising condition rarities of the Liberty Head half eagle series -- despite a mintage exceeding 1.5 million pieces, Gems are decidedly rare. This is a razor-sharp MS65 with dazzling eye appeal. Only a few tiny marks and abrasions visible under a loupe deny an even finer grade.
