1899-S Half Eagle, MS65
Captivatingly Toned Condition Rarity
1899-S $5 MS65 PCGS. This captivating Gem features swirling
mint luster and deep yellow-gold surfaces with some white-gold and
steel-blue towards the center. An unsung condition rarity from the
later Liberty half eagle series, the 1899-S is just as elusive as
the 1898-S in the finer Mint State grades.Ex: Long Beach Bullet (Heritage, 9/2002), lot 2337; Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2006), lot 2988.(Registry values: P2)
