Pursued Gem 1901/0-S Five Dollar

1901/0-S $5 MS65 NGC. FS-301, formerly FS-006. The upper right curve of the underdigit 0 is evident near the peak of the second 1 in the date. Well preserved and lustrous with lime-gold color. One of the final overdate varieties caused by punching a date logotype into an earlier dated die. Later overdates (from 1909, 1918, and 1942) were hubbing errors. Census: 26 in 65, 5 finer (10/09).(Registry values: N2998)
