Exceptional 1901-S Half Eagle, MS66

1901-S $5 MS66 NGC. Here is a major condition rarity in the Liberty half eagle series. Although the production of 3.6 million coins was the second highest in the series behind 1881, survival was relatively low, with the typical example barely breaking the Mint State barrier. This wonderful representative has brilliant, satiny yellow luster with exceptional design definition. Census: 70 in 66, 13 finer (7/10).(Registry values: N2998)
