Impressive Premium Gem 1901-S Half Eagle
1901-S $5 MS66 PCGS. CAC. The central design elements are fully brought up on both sides, including Liberty's hair detail and the eagle's talons, leg feathers, and neck feathers. The intense mint luster illuminates deep lime-gold coloration and impressively preserved surfaces. Two or three small, red-orange alloy spots are noted on each side. The 1901-S is the most common issue of the series, but Premium Gem and finer examples are not numerous.
