Description
1901-S Liberty Half Eagle, MS67+
Registry Set Essential
1901-S $5 MS67+ PCGS. CAC. A large mintage of more than 3.6
million Liberty half eagles was accomplished in 1901 at the San
Francisco Mint, making the 1901-S an available issue and a popular
choice with type collectors. Few examples can match the technical
quality and eye appeal of the present coin, however. This piece is
a spectacular high-end Superb Gem, the finest seen at PCGS, by
virtue of its Plus designation. The well-preserved yellow-gold
surfaces show a few apricot highlights, with vibrant, frosty mint
luster on both sides. The design elements are sharply detailed and
overall eye appeal is terrific. The PCGS Registry Set enthusiast
will find no suitable substitute for this magnificent specimen.
