Description

Impressive 1903-S Half Eagle, MS66

1903-S $5 MS66 PCGS. The 1903-S half eagle is one of the most common dates of the Liberty Head five dollar series. As indicated by PCGS/NGC population data, even Mint State coins through the near-Gem level of preservation are obtainable. There is a sharp drop in MS65 pieces, and Premium Gem and finer specimens become rare. Variegated apricot-gold and mint-green patina resides on the lustrous, nicely preserved surfaces of this MS66 example. An attentive strike rounds out this coin's impressive eye appeal. Population: 16 in 66, 0 finer (9/08).
