Description
1903-S Half Eagle, MS67
Tied for Finest Certified
1903-S $5 MS67 NGC. The 1903-S is one of the most common
dates in the Liberty series, and certainly ranks among the easily
obtainable S-Mint issues. Examples are readily available up to
MS65, and even MS66 specimens can be found with little difficulty.
However, Superb Gems like this piece remain important rarities with
only a few certified by NGC, and none finer. The best that PCGS has
examined is MS66. This lovely specimen has a bold strike with
pristine surfaces and faint orange toning over its frosty yellow
surfaces. Census: 8 in 67, 0 finer (8/13).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25Z3, PCGS# 8408, Greysheet# 9104)
