1903-S Half Eagle, MS67
Tied for the Finest Certified
1903-S $5 MS67 NGC. Despite a mintage of more than 1.85
million coins, the 1903-S half eagle emerges as an important
condition rarity with less than 100 NGC and PCGS submissions graded
finer than MS65 from a total combined population that exceeds
10,000 coins. This Superb Gem is one of just 13 similar examples
that the two grading services evaluate as MS67 with none finer.
Minuscule nicks on Liberty's chin and eyebrow are the only
mentionable marks that will aid future identification. Both sides
feature a bold strike and brilliant, frosty yellow-gold luster.
