    1839-C Half Eagle, VF35
    Obverse Mintmark Liberty Issue

    1839-C $5 VF35 PCGS. The 1839-C and the 1839-D are the only Liberty issues with an obverse mintmark. The present low mintage Choice VF apricot-gold half eagle displays considerable plumage detail though the curls show wear. Marks are inconsequential aside from a slender line east of the date and a couple of faint lines above the portrait.(Registry values: P5)

    Weight: 8.36 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
