    1844-C Half Eagle, Choice VF
Great Eye Appeal for the Grade

1844-C $5 VF35 NGC. CAC. Variety 1. Doug Winter estimates 125 to 175 examples of the 1844-C survive, an issue he calls "among the scarcest half eagles from this mint." A relatively generous total of 23,631 pieces were struck, but they saw extensive circulation in local commerce. This Choice VF representative is wonderfully appealing and strongly detailed for the grade with luster remaining within the protected areas. Small marks and blending are expected. CAC: 3 in 35, 8 finer (12/18).(Registry values: P5) (NGC ID# 25T8, PCGS# 8220)

    Weight: 8.36 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
