    Description

1850-C $5 Weak C XF40 PCGS. Variety 4. Doug Winter estimates that as many as 350 examples of this issue survive in all grades, making the 1850-C one of the most plentiful half eagles from the Charlotte Mint and an excellent type candidate. This XF coin displays a sharp strike and only light wear. Moderately abraded surfaces show original olive-gold patina. The reverse is rotated approximately 60 degrees clockwise, which is a rare occurrence for the variety. Housed in an old green label holder. (NGC ID# 25U2, Variety PCGS# 98244, Base PCGS# 8244)

    Weight: 8.36 grams
