    1850-D Liberty Half Eagle, AU50
    Underrated Branch Mint Issue

1850-D $5 AU50 PCGS. Variety 27-U. From a mintage of 43,984 pieces, the 1850-D Liberty half eagle is a challenging issue in all grades, but its elusive nature is largely unappreciated, outside of series specialists. This impressive AU specimen shows only light wear on the well-detailed design elements and the rich yellow-gold surfaces exhibit the expected number of minor abrasions for the grade. Population: 27 in 50, 34 finer (2/20). (NGC ID# 25U3, PCGS# 8245)

    Weight: 8.36 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
