    1852-C Half Eagle, AU58
    Impressively Sharp

1852-C $5 AU58 PCGS. Variety 1. The date placement and the tip of an errant 1 protruding from the bust confirm the attribution. Half eagle production at the Charlotte Mint reached 72,574 coins in 1852 -- a fairly substantial jump over the previous year's output. The 1852-C is generally collectible, although coins at this level are scarce. Strike detail is impressively sharp, save for the eagle's neck feathers. Yellow-gold surfaces show a trace of reflectivity and scattered hairlines. Population: 13 in 58, 30 finer (9/19).(Registry values: P3) (NGC ID# 25UB, PCGS# 8251)

    Weight: 8.36 grams
