    1852-D Five Dollar, AU53
    Popular D-Mint Issue

1852-D $5 AU53 NGC. Variety 32-V. The 1852-D is one of the more frequently encountered D-mint fives, its collectibility (in this case) reliably indicated by the mintage of 91,584 pieces. It is popular for type purposes because of the number of coins available in grades up to AU53. As always, the strike is soft but considerable remaining mint luster surrounds the devices. While lacking the often-seen heavy abrasions, close examination shows a number of small, individually insignificant marks. Original orange-gold color.(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 25UC, PCGS# 8252)

    Weight: 8.36 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
