1857-D Five Dollar, XF45
Underappreciated Dahlonega Issue

1857-D $5 XF45 PCGS. Variety 41-HH. This scarce D-mint five had a mintage of only 17,046 pieces with a mere 150 to 200 survivors estimated in all grades. The surfaces are notably clean and slight traces of mint luster remain within and around the devices. Slight reddish patina adds a mild accent of color to this otherwise yellow-gold coin.(Registry values: P3)
