Only One Finer at PCGS

1903-S $5 MS66+ PCGS. The 1903-S half eagle had the second highest mintage of any 20th century coin in the Liberty Head series behind the 1901-S. Production totaled 1,855,000 coins in 1903. However, less than four dozen PCGS pieces survive in MS66 or finer grades. This example has a bold strike and frosty mint luster with hints of orange patina on minimally marked surfaces.
